What formats do i need to send files to you.
I can accept almost any format, I have a large selection of software and can open almost any file. If you are sending images please make sure they are scanned at 100% scale and 300dpi resolution, save these in either an eps, jpg, bmp or tiff format. For text files most text editing software will allow you to export as a .txt file, if you can not do this then please let me know the software you have used to save the file.
I would like to include images in my family tree but only have the original pictures which are very valuable to me. I am a bit concerned about sending them through the post safely.
If you do not have access to a scanner, and have to send the original pictures, please send them via Royal Mail recorded delivery. Package them between a couple of pieces of heavy card for protection. Once I receive them I will scan them and send them back to you within 48hrs again via recorded delivery.
I have different families that I would link in to my family tree but am not sure how to do this.
If you have a rough layout of each of the families mark clearly the family member that unites the families through marriage and I will connect them together when I plan the layout.
I would like to add some decoration to my family tree but am unsure if it is possible or what I could use.
Many people like to add some pictorial element to their family tree's and in the past I have used different elements such as flowers, maps and family crests. Other ideas to consider are if there are certain occupations that have continued through the years such as the Army or a Farming background etc. I have a large stock of high quality images and can generally find something along the lines of what you may need.
